Earlier this week, Michelle, our Charity Marketing Assistant atLocalgiving.com, visited Somerset Community Foundation to deliver an online fundraising workshop for local Somerset charities at Strode College in Street. The interactive session demonstrated how creating a Localgiving.com charity webpage, such as the Carymoor Environmental Trust page, can help local organisations to showcase their work in the community in order to attract and engage with new and existing supporters and online donations.
As well as covering top tips and highlights of how Localgiving.com supports online fundraising, the workshop provided a great opportunity for local charities to share fundraising ideas and best practice.
Karen Collins, Programmes Officer at Somerset Community Foundation, said, “A diverse mix of groups attended our fundraising workshop yesterday, which led to an interesting and helpful exchange of ideas.”
The workshop ended with an interactive session on social media, and by the end everyone had set up a Twitter account and were tweeting away!
Localgiving.com runs free fundraising workshops around the UK with the aim of helping charities to make the most of Localgiving.com tools so they can maximise their presence online, and fundraise sustainably.
